Transportation from the airport: To reach Fenfushi Island from the airport, there are several transportation options available. Most visitors choose the scheduled speedboat as it is the most popular option. However, there are other options as well.
Scheduled Speedboat: Option 1: Scheduled speedboat ferries are available from Saturday to Thursday. Departure time from the airport/Male’ city to Fenfushi is at 15:00 AM Saturday to Thursday. The departure time from Fenfushi to the airport/Male’ city is at 6:45 AM. The cost of the speedboat transfer is USD 55 per person per way, and the trip duration is around 2 hours, depending on the weather. The name of the speedboat is Neesa express.
Anyone wish to have earlier speed boat option to reach the island, there is a scheduled speed boat depart from airport to Dhigurah island every day at 10:30 am. It will take approximately 1:45 minutes to reach the island with the cost of $50. From Dhigurah to Fenfushi speed transfer will cost you $150 usd to charter a boat.
Domestic Flight Transfer: Option 2: The domestic flight transfer is one of the fastest and most convenient ways to travel. The cost of a domestic flight ticket is USD 145 per person per way. The flight travels from Male’ Airport (Velana International Airport) to Maamigili Island (Villa International Airport Maamigili), which takes around 20 to 25 minutes. There are 3-5 flights daily. Upon arriving at Maamigili a short 10-minute speedboat ride will bring you to Fenfushi. The journey is smooth and refreshing — you’ll glide across the turquoise lagoon, watching the island grow closer with each wave.
Seaplane: Option 3: The seaplane is another fast way of transportation, with a ticket price of USD 200 per person per way. The flight travels from Male’ Airport to a platform close to Fenfushi Island, which takes around 25 minutes. There are 3-4 flights daily. From the platform, a speedboat can be hired to travel to Fenfushi Island, which takes around 10-15 minutes. arriving at Maamigili a short 10-minute speedboat ride will bring you to Fenfushi. Private Speedboat: Option 4: The private speedboat service is arranged according to the guest’s preferred timings and does not have any specific departure times. The cost of the private speedboat service is USD 1500 per way, and it can accommodate up to 18 people.
Public Ferry: Option 5: The public ferry is a local sea transportation provided by a government company named MTCC. Currently, there is no direct ferry between Male’ city and Fenfushi Island. However, if you wish to travel, you can take the ferry from Male’ city to Mahibadhoo Island and from Mahibadhoo to Fenfushi. This is the cheapest option available, with a cost of about USD 5 per person per way per trip. The trips may take 8 to 10 hours. From Male’ city to Mahibadhoo, you can board the ferry from the Male’ Ferry Terminal (Hulhumale’ Ferry Terminal) in Male’ city at around 8:30 AM (Route 305). From Mahibadhoo to Fenfushi, the departure time is around 13:30 PM (Route 304) on Saturdays, Mondays, and Wednesdays.
